RIKEN is the oldest, most renowned research institute in Japan. Since summer 2020, I have been working on a robotics project at RIKEN. Under the supervision of the lab director, we assembled a high-precision robotics arm and programmed a software for it to sketch any digital picture onto paper. The goal of the project is to analyze and attempt to recreate the nuances of human emotional intelligence in robots. Check out our blog for this project. We are currently working on an academic paper to publish our findings and share them with the world.

JHack Hackathon

Hackathon is a sprint-like event for a group of programmers to work together on a collaborative project. Most hackathons are competitions where several teams are competing to create prototypes that innovate on a theme or improve upon an existing project. From my past experiences, I have found that many hackathons are inaccessible for beginners. Through JHack Hackathon, I hope to be inclusive to participants of all levels, and promote the field of STEM.
